Purple and Gold

This year LSU played for the National Championship.  They had an incredible 13-0 season.  The game was on January 9th in New Orleans.  LSU played Alabama and it was #1 vs. #2 - a rematch or the "game of the century redo". (If you remember these two teams played in the fall and it was dubbed the game of the century.)  This month they played each other again for a shot at the national title.  I think the entire state was painted purple and gold on Monday, January 9th.  There was so much excitement about the game - it was all that you heard about on tv or the radio and it was definitely the topic of conversation around town.  MK's school are big Tiger fans so of course they had purple and gold day on that Monday.  She modeled this LSU dress for me.......

Walker wore purple and gold too but didn't want to take a picture.  Mimi recently got him these "LSU" shoes.
This was the best picture I could get of the wild man that day........
MK actually wore this little outfit to school because it is more comfortable than a smocked dress.
It was a very warm January day so before school, the kiddos played outside.
You know it's warm if MK is wearing a sleeveless top and Walker is in a shortall.  This picture looks like they are playing in the month of September - not January.  But this is the South and we have been having a very mild, pretty warm winter.  Walker, as you can see below, was thrilled that I was taking his picture.
When Sissy was at school, Walker continued to play outside.  I will say that is a benefit to having a warmer winter.  We can play outside in January.  Walker got this Toy Story 4 wheeler from Santa and he has LOVED it!
He can't steer but he pushes the button and off he goes - up and down the driveway.  Again he was thrilled having his picture made.  He was just NOT in a picture mood.  I have a lot of people tell me that he is alway smiling in pictures and seems like such a happy boy.  And that is very true most of the time.  He was just having a straight face kind of day.
And a determined to not look at the camera kind of day!
Unfortunately Alabama won the game by a huge score.  It was a blowout.  LSU looked and played terrible - the worse they've played all year.  They definitely didn't look like a 13-0 team.  But you can't win them all!  And although every Tiger fan was so disappointed, I reminded them that it could be worse.  They could be an Ole Miss fan and have not won one SEC game all year.  It really was an awful game but LSU had a great season and are already picked to be high in the rankings next year.  The hype was fun and my family had a great time in New Orleans.  College football is now over and it's time to get ready for the NFL playoffs.  WHO DAT - GO SAINTS!!
